Skylight Tinting

A skylight is a heat lamp pointed straight down at your floor for six hours a day. When it's a hundred and four outside, that's not a small detail.

A barrel-vaulted skylight glazed overhead, filmed to cut the heat coming straight down.

Skylight & Overhead Glazing

Daylight Without
The Heat Lamp

Skylights take the sun at its most direct angle, which makes them the hottest square footage in most buildings. Below them you get a hot spot, blown-out glare, and flooring and furniture fading in a stripe that tracks across the room with the sun.

Homes here are full of them. Production builders through the eighties, nineties, and two-thousands put skylights in hallways, kitchens, and primary baths across the entire valley, and a great many are the original acrylic domes rather than glass. Those need a compatible film, because standard glass products can craze or delaminate on acrylic. We check the material before we spec, add safety laminate where glazing is overhead, and bring our own access.

  • Solar control on skylights and atria
  • 99% UV rejection to stop fading
  • Acrylic and polycarbonate compatible films
  • Safety laminate for overhead containment
  • Curved, domed and sloped glazing
  • Lift and staging access included

What Sets Us Apart

Why Businesses Choose
Window Films of Santa Clarita

Kills The Hot Spot

Sun straight down through glass is the hardest case there is, so it's where film pays back most.

Right Film For Acrylic

Most skylights here are acrylic domes, not glass. The wrong film crazes them. We check first, every time.

Stops The Sun Stripe

That bleached band creeping across the floor and the furniture stops moving once the ultraviolet is out.

We Bring The Access

Lifts, towers, and rope access for anything high or pitched, all arranged by us.

Our Process

How It Works

01

Overhead Survey

We record the material, the pitch, the height, and how we reach it, then price the lot as one scope.

02

Film & Safety Spec

We specify the solar product, plus any safety laminate the position needs, against your real glazing.

03

Access & Install

Access goes up, everything beneath is sheeted, and film goes on one panel at a time.

04

Clean & Confirm

Site cleared, a review from below, and the overhead glazing warranty recorded.
